Leading UK clothing and homeware retailer Matalan has appointed McCann Manchester as strategic and creative brand agency following a multi-way competitive pitch process.

The appointment is effective immediately and sees McCann Manchester assume responsibility for all marketing for the brand.

The clothing and homewares brand, which was established in 1985 and now has in excess of 230 stores across the UK, reported sales revenues of in excess of £1bn in its last published accounts.

The win further reinforces McCann Manchester’s specialism in retail, with current clients including Aldi, Magnet, Smyths Toys Superstores and the Vauxhall and Peugeot dealership networks.
