Metro, the digital innovations hub of McCann Manchester, is working with award-winning production company October Films on digital product development and marketing.
Metro’s first brief is to design, build and launch a mobile app for the hit series ‘Rude Tube’, which is screened on E4.
The entertainment app, due to be launched in April, will feature exclusive content and functionality to allow users to play games.
October Films, based in London, is a British independent film and television production company. It specialises in making intelligent factual programming – from hard-hitting current affairs to factual entertainment series, observational documentaries, history and science programmes.
The company won an International Emmy in the ‘News and Current Affairs’ category in 2010 for its documentary ‘Pakistan’s Taliban Generation.
Ric Hayes, Digital Development Director at Metro, said: “We’re excited to be working with such a creative company. This is latest of several mobile apps we’ve developed, yet another indication that the demand for digital content is continuing to increase.”
