MCCANN MANCHESTER TAKES DOUBLE GOLD AT CIPR AWARDS

McCann Manchester has been awarded a double GOLD at the CIPR PRide Awards 2011 recognising excellence of its creativity and work within the public sector and the fashion industry.

Held at The Hilton Hotel Deansgate, Manchester, the ceremony recognised some of the North West’s best PR and communications talent, and saw McCann Manchester crowned Gold in the ‘Best use of Photography’ and ‘Public Sector’ categories.

The first award was given for ‘Best Use of Photography or Design’ for Hotter Shoes Royal Ascot campaign. Working with leading designer, Hayley Marsden McCann Manchester commissioned a hat made out of Hotter Shoes to showcase at the prestigious racing event.

The second gold was awarded in the best ‘Public Sector’ category for the agency work with Smokefree North West and the ‘Take 7 Steps Out’ campaign.  Helping to raise awareness of the dangers of secondhand smoke amongst children, the campaign moved 59% of respondents to take their smoking outside.

McCann Manchester was also shortlisted for ‘Best Social Media’ campaign for Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer tickety talk and Smokefree North West’s Take Seven Steps Out campaign in the ‘Not for Profit’ campaign.
